The new Cisco Adler mixtape sounds fresh just by looking at the roster of collaborating artists – and it sounds even better when you listen to it. Think Malibu, summer-chill, Cisco-Adler-at-his-finest. Supercali is a musical success, with the same catchy vibes from Corona and Lime and Buzzin’ that helped narrate Summer 2008.
There isn’t much that’s more satisfying than when an artist whose music you appreciate stays true to their distinct sound and style. Ever since Shwayze climbed on stage at one of Cisco’s performances, the two have been an unstoppable creative force. Not surprisingly, the mixtape starts with Shwayze and California Girl. Shwayze thinks he’s in love; California Girl follows his indecisive thought process as he navigates through love in Malibu, the Bay, Diego, and L.A.
Mickey Avalon’s take on Paradise City is fresh fire. He nonchalantly guides us through a lyrical story in typical Mickey fashion. Similar to Mickey’s I-don’t-give-a-f*ck attitude, Dirt Nasty welcomes us to his song Can I Get Wit Chu with “If you a bitch, put your motherf*cking hands up in the air, like this.” (Thanks, Dirt!). Much of Dirt Nasty’s success can be attributed to his lyrical free-spiritedness… remember the 1980 music video where he says (snorts) whatever he wants while rollerblading? That’s artist confidence.
Moses Haughton has been on my radar for a while as he pursues his musical career, so it’s exciting to see he’s teaming up with Cisco to showcase his talents. Moses has a fresh voice, so we’ll definitely be following him as he expands into the scene.
Roxy Cottontail gained tremendous exposure this year with her beyond-popular club track Let’s Make Nasty, and she used that same creativity on the track Buttafly Kisses. On the last track, Cisco introduces us to Chris Young the Rapper, who manages to fuse California chill with smooth lyrics on an electro beat… fresh, original lyrics and sound.
Supercalifornialipsticksexymagicdopeshit is a showcase of all your favorite artists with new debuts from just-discovered artists who are making all the right noise. This is one summer mixtape that deserves an uninterrupted listen from the Intro all the way to the last track an hour later.

Straight awesome mixtape. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of Cisco. Seems like he coulda done a bit more singing.
Still sick tape though, love every single track.
